Bacchus Marsh Rotary Art Show
After three attempts over the last 2 years, we were finally able to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Bacchus Marsh Art Show. This is the longest running art show in regional Victoria and its 50th exhibition was a resounding success, with 22% of the 570 exhibits being sold.
Our judge, Beckett Rozentals, a curator at the National Gallery of Victoria, praised the high standard of the artworks and was particularly impressed with the quality of the smaller painting exhibits.
The winner of the first ever “Best in Show” prize was Gregory R. Smith, for his oil painting, “Copper Porcelain and Red Sari”.
A grand total of $12,700 worth of prize money was awarded.
