Ri Van Veen – Artist in residence.
I am a sculptural ceramic artist; many of my earlier works are based on the human form. However, more recently, organic, biomorphic forms have emerged. It is through my work that I explore and communicate the concepts and ideas that inform my world. My art takes on many guises; it may reflect my own inner state, it may tell the story of a political, social or environment issue or it may explore new forms and techniques, but always underlying it is an insight into ‘who and why we are’. |
Additional things to look for over the weekend:
Children’s Quiz
The ever-popular children’s quiz will once again be available to the very youngest of our art lovers. Presented with a sheet of questions and a pencil, children must use their visual and detective skills to track down special animals or objects depicted in the artworks. A sweet prize will likely reward a task well done.
Raffle
Purchase of a $2.00 ticket will give you the unique opportunity to win one of 5 prizes which include 4 original artworks and one of wine.
